Purpose of this site

These pages explain, in general terms, how residential concrete is built, how East Tennessee ground and weather affect it, and how to compare quotes for driveways, patios, walkways, slabs and replacement. The site also connects Knoxville-area homeowners with a residential concrete contractor.

General information, not professional advice

Nothing here is engineering, legal or permitting advice. Soil, drainage, local rules and HOA requirements vary from property to property, and the city, county or HOA is the only authority on its own requirements. Do not rely on anything written here in place of an assessment of your own property.

No pricing

No page states a price, and none should be inferred. Cost is set by the contractor after seeing the property, because that is the first point at which it can be answered honestly.

These pages are written and reviewed with care, but errors can slip through. Report one and it will be fixed.
